Common questions

When do you need a full LCA rather than a screening study?

When the result has to stand up outside your company: an EPD, a public comparison with a competitor, a tender that asks for a reviewed study, or a design decision big enough that a rough answer will not do.

Do I need an LCA to get an EPD?

Yes. An EPD is built on an LCA done to EN 15804 and the product category rules for your product. We build the LCA and take it through review; the EPD itself is verified and published through an EPD programme operator.

How work is scoped and priced

  • The deliverables listed for a service are indicative, not a fixed package. A real engagement is often narrower, and sometimes a single item on that list is the whole job. What is in scope, and what is not, is named in the proposal.
  • If an advisory question turns out to need one of the services, we quote it as that service rather than bill you advisory hours.
  • Time and price depend on the size and complexity of the site or product, how deep the supply chain goes, how much of your own data already exists, and whether an independent review is included. Each one is quoted in a written proposal before any work starts.
